I met up with Asdis at Skógafoss, which is about a two hour drive from the main town of Reykjavik. After shooting a bit around and above the falls, we made our way to Seljavallalaug, an outdoor swimming pool that’s surrounded by a pretty amazing Icelandic view. I’d seen friends visit this pool before and they’d told me it was a bit of a hike out, but that it was 100% worth it. I visited the day before the shoot date to make sure it wouldn’t be too much of a trek for everyone involved, but thankfully it was just a quick 20 minute walk through some rocks and over a little river. I ended up coming back here this past summer to swim again. The water is pretty grimy, but you can’t beat the view.
Huge thanks to Asdis for being an absolute muse and being so keen to shoot in all these incredible places.
